Right next to the village, there is the Mystic Aquarium, where tickets are $35. There are happy sea lions clapping for their fans, and penguins who want to strut their stuff. Furthermore, new events are always added, even holiday-themed ones, so it can keep anyone busy for several hours.

Once you exit, that is where you head to the village for a relaxing stroll, taking in all that Mystic has to offer. There are coffee shops with unique offerings, such as Deviant Craft Coffee & Donuts. Everything is made from scratch and tastes delicious. There is also Never Enough Bake Shop, which features sweet treats for the dessert lover in you. Harry Potter fan or just love some fun potions? The Cloak and Wand has handcrafted treats for kids and adults of all ages. It is a whimsical, sparkly shop that will entrance you for a very long time.

One of the most adorable stops is Sofia’s Mystical Christmas. In there, it is Christmas year-round and is filled with constant cheer. There is something for everyone, and it epitomizes Christmas in July. Even heading to Downtown Mystic, CT, travelers with have so many unique and lavish shops to check out. It will leave you breathless as it is picturesque, and you may never want to leave.

Where To Eat

All of this walking and shopping around Mystic, CT, may have helped you work up an appetite. So, where is there to stop for a quick bite? The Boardwalk is very beachy and will offer some quick fried snacks that make you feel like you are at a beach canteen. Yet, if you are in a sushi mood, look no further than Pink Basil. The choices are endless, the service is quick, and everything is delicious. There are incredible vegetarian options for those who don’t typically care for fish. Both are located in Olde Mistick Village. However, Mystic is known for something very special, and that is pizza. In the eighties, Julia Roberts starred in Mystic Pizza, and this is the place where it was filmed.

Once seated, you cannot help but feel like you are in the film. Moreover, the pizza is better than expected, as it would seem like a niche idea. Once you go, you will be dreaming about the cheese, sauce, and delectable crust. Yet, all of the food there, not exclusive to pizza, is fantastic. The Caesar salad complements the food perfectly, and can even be taken back to the hotel for a late-night treat.

If you are looking for a budget-friendly hotel within ten minutes of Olde Mistick Village, there are the Spark by Hilton or the Best Western. Both are location-friendly with great accommodations. Now, if you have had enough of small-town fun, Foxwoods Resort & Casino is a fifteen-minute drive. They have concerts and a Hard Rock Cafe as well as a Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen. So, treat yourself and indulge.
