Oklahoma is hot in the summer, so we were looking for a place to take the kids to have fun that would keep us out of the heat. Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City was the perfect place for that and the kids had a blast. This is the type of place that you can spend a few hours or an entire day depending on how much time you spend checking everything out. It is actually fun for all ages!

The Science Museum Oklahoma is located next door to the Oklahoma City Zoo. The prices to get in are adults (13-64) $15.95, Seniors (65+) $12.95 and children (3-12)$12.95. They also offer passes if you live in the area and want to be able to go all of the time for a cheaper price.

Once you walk in, you will see so many things to do with your children. They have stuff for all ages. We took kids from ages six up to fifteen and they all had a blast! The younger kids loved climbing through the indoor tree house and the older kids enjoyed trying to walk on a tightrope and riding a Segway.

The picture above is just one small area of the Science Museum Oklahoma. They have so many things to do including riding a Segway, getting inside something that feels like a tornado and making cloud rings!

Once you are in the museum, you will realize that there are two floors of fun things to do. Downstairs has a lot of fun activities such as the Tinkering Garage and the Oceanarium that shows you all about the sea. They also have birthday party rooms downstairs if you want to set up a party at the museum. They offer various packages.

Once you go upstairs, they have an area that was new since the last time we were there. It is all about challenging each other. They have a 50-yard dash, climbing wall and more. The kids had a blast burning off some energy in this area. This is called Power Play. The big huge chair and table are also in this area. There is no way that anyone can resist climbing up on top of it for a photo opportunity.

They also have two different shows that you can attend. Our favorite is Science Live! The show that we went to was full of explosions made by science. The guy in charge of the show brought people from the audience up to help him and showed us some pretty cool stuff, but things you would never want to try at home. They also have the Kirkpatrick Planetarium where you can look up and watch a show above you. We didn’t have time for this one to work out during this trip. Also, make sure you check out the gift shop on your way out. They have several science kits and more, but my kids always go for the rock candy.
