Top States With Must-See Holiday Light Displays

Decorations are one of the best parts of any holiday. It shows how far people will go to show their spirit, and let’s be real, some go all out. They will spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on themed decor simply for one day. There are homeowners who love Halloween and ensure that their houses become fully haunted for the season. Yet, others turn their property into a personal North Pole for November and December without a second thought. Driving through neighborhoods with a plethora of light displays has become a tradition for many families and a challenge in some ways. Finding the best of the best can be what the holiday season is all about.

However, the holiday season can be a great time to get out of local neighborhoods and make it to the top states with the best light displays. This can be an exciting adventure for friends looking to go on a weekend getaway, families who need new ideas, or singles needing time away. The first two are California and Nevada, which have displays from Enchant Christmas. What is great about this company is that they travel and set up in new locations every season. Therefore, if you miss it in 2025, you may be able to see it in 2026 or the following year.

So, what makes this event so incredible and worthwhile? It is not just a holiday light display but boasts the “world’s largest light maze.” Additionally, there is ice skating, treats, shopping, and more, plus Santa visits, which cap off Enchant. Prices range from $34 to $53, and followers love the idea of what this spot offers:

Come Up North

The holidays can make you think of the North Pole, and for good reason. If you happen to live in the East or plan on visiting, why not make a stop in Brooklyn, New York? It seems that Dyker Heights has become known for its residents and how seriously they take holiday lights. The decorations and inflatables are larger than life and even come equipped with carolers. However, if you are going to swing by Brooklyn to see the lights, you might as well go to Rockefeller Center to see the infamous tree. Or, swing by Fifth Avenue because it will bring out all of the childlike holiday spirit within.

Road-tripping for the holidays? Why not make your way through Concord, North Carolina, for a four-mile scenic cruise? That is the home of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Speedway Christmas, which showcases a musical light show. Yet, no one has to leave their vehicle to enjoy the sights and sounds, so do not miss it or Lights Under Louisville in Kentucky. That is another drive-through light adventure, which is located in what was once a limestone mine. There are not just thousands of holiday lights but rather millions, so this is beyond an experience.

Whether you are planning to check out holiday lights over the next week or looking ahead to 2026, look no further.
